Meet the inqaba biotec Logistics team!

Hello again! I hope you enjoyed getting to know the info team last week! This week, I would like to present to you our logistics team!

inqaba biotec logistic team (left to right): King, Melvin, André, Arthur

The logistics team has a very important task in the company. Without a very professional and sophisticated organisation of this section, inqaba biotec would not be known for its quick delivery and fast turnaround times. The head of the inqaba biotec’s logistics team is the Operations Manager Arthur.

Arthur grew up in KZN and moved to Pretoria for high school. He studied BSc (Human Physiology, Genetics and Psychology) at University of Pretoria. He started at inqaba biotec 4 years ago as an intern in the sequencing lab. Then, he worked at the info desk for one year, until he took over his current position in the logistics team. As Operations Manager, Arthur is the responsible person for the supply data management, procurement, stock inventory and shipping …Well… That just means that he makes sure that your orders get delivered in time and that they are complete. 😉 Arthur likes especially about his job that he gets in contact with people all over the world and that he gets to know a complete new working field upon his biology background. Nowadays, Arthur is even studying Polymer Technology at Tshwane University of Technology, besides his tasks at inqaba biotec.

Another important logistics team member, and generally very crucial and loyal inqaba biotec employee is Melvin. Melvin has been working for inqaba biotec from the beginning on, 13 years ago. He started as courier, changed then to administration assistant and worked later at the info desk. Since the beginning, Melvin is part of the logistics team, where he carries out the administrative work for incoming and outgoing shipments. Melvin enjoys his work and is happy about the constant company growth and the improvements for the customers that go along with it. He lives with his family in Pretoria and likes soccer and rugby, but he also says about his colleagues: “We are like a family!”

Obviously, within logistic operations also a lot of physical work needs to be performed. Our youngest members André and King are still full of energy and they precisely prepare all international and national orders for dispatch in time. Our fast turnaround is much appreciated by our customers. Furthermore, André and King update the stock inventory and handle incoming shipments. King is originally from Limpopo, studied logistics in Pretoria and joined inqaba biotec two years ago. Currently, he is doing his Honours Degree in Logistics during evening classes at TUT. His special duty is to take care of inqaba biotec’s company car, the Caddy. King is always in a good mood and during breaks he loves entertaining and joking around. The newest member in the team is André. He started to work for inqaba biotec 9 months ago. André grew up in Sunnyside in Pretoria, where he still lives today and his favourite hobby is cycling. He travels to work every day by bicycle and sometimes he even gets to deliver customer orders with is beloved bike. 😉
