It is with great pleasure that the Local Organizing Committee can announce that the 7th International Barcode of Life (iBOL) Conference will be held at the Nombolo Mdhluli Conference Centre in Skukuza – the capital of Kruger National Park (KNP), South Africa from the 20th to the 24th of November 2017.The conference centre situated in the heart of the African wilderness can accommodate up to 700 delegates, with a number of smaller rooms for plenaries and workshops, and is in walking distance from available accommodations. KNP is one of Africa’s premier game reserves and will set the stage for delegates to experience the breathtaking natural beauty whilst exchanging views and ideas on prevailing barcoding trends.
The theme of the 7th Conference, ‘exploring mega-diverse biotas with DNA barcodes’, aims to shine a spotlight on the use of DNA to understand diversity patterns and ecological processes in species-rich and complicated ecosystems. It will also serve as a platform for discussions on the field of DNA barcoding as a whole.
The conference program will include plenary lectures, parallel sessions comprising invited and contributed/selected talks as well as poster presentations. The optional first day (20 November) will be devoted to training workshops.
